I was last week in Mauritius, and had the opportunity to make some flag
observations there: A frequently seen flag is the one of the Mauritius Police
Force, wich can be seen in front of the police stations. It looked 1:2, is
dark blue, and bears in the centre the emblem of the police badge: in a white
laurel wreath, with the national coat of arms at the
top, the three letters "MPF" in white, and, at the bottom, the
inscription "Mauritius" (in the centre), "police" (left)
and "force" (right). This can be seen at the top of the
official webpage.

Car pennant of the Commissioner of Police (Head of Armed Forces);
I have taken the photograph a few weeks ago during my visit.
Michel Lupant, 24 Mar 2003
The flag is blue tirangular pennant with silver initials
"CP" and the coat of arms within a silver ring
(thus apparently reading "COP", but I do not
think that it was intention…).

The commissioner of Police pennant I have discovered and published
in Album des Pavillons is dark blue and not black.

The only correction (as far as I am aware) in the Corr. 4
[cor04] for Mauritius was correction
of the flag of the Commissioner of Police, incorrectly shown in
[pay00]. The incorrect interpretation
was an error by Armand interpreting the photo Michel Lupant made in
Mauritius, who later corrected the colours as per his observation.
The black verison with golden letters is just an error but should
be retained on the web site to prevent future “discoveries” of
this flag, if you know what I mean…
